In our support for those in need we try to 'walk together with Christ' and to show his love for all people.
WERS
The West End Refugee Service grew out of the response of West End church to the needs of asylum seekers who were being
sent to live in the area as part of the government's dispersal scheme in the 1990s. Our support for WERS is still an important
part of our witness to Christ's love in our community. As well as giving money to the hardship fund we collect donations of hats, scarves, gloves, toiletries and small gifts for the clients at Christmas.
The Miriam Dean Fund is a small charity which funds projects for the some of the poorest people in other parts of the world.
Much of the work is for children and young adults in parts of India and Africa, and all the money we raise goes directly to the projects.
The Newcastle West End Food Bank provides emergency food parcels for over 1,000 people each week. We collect dried and
canned foodstuffs at church which are then delivered weekly to the depot where they are gratefully received.
